WASHINGTON — The total amount of liquid product from shell eggs broken in July was 225,868,000 lbs, down 3% from June and down 5% from the previous year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in its latest

Egg Products report.

July production of edible whole eggs was 140,136,000 lbs, down 3% from the previous year; liquid whites were 56,788,000 lbs, down 6%; liquid yolks were 28,944,000 lbs, down 9%; and inedible product was 18,954,000 lbs, down 6%.

Edible liquid product produced for the January-July period was 1,514,377,000 lbs, down 3% from the same period of the previous year, the U.S.D.A. said. Liquid whole eggs totaled 956,125,000 lbs, down 3%; liquid whites were 368,972,000 lbs, down 1%; liquid yolks were 189,280,000 lbs, down 5%; and inedible products were 128,024,000 lbs, down 6%.

Shell eggs broken in July totaled 174,220,000 dozen, down 3% from the previous month and down 5% from the previous year. Shell eggs broken in the January-July period totaled 1,158,789,000 dozen, down 3% from the same period of the previous year.
