Rhodia now uses a more sustainable process to make vanillin, having converted to food-grade bio-ethanol as a solvent in its guaiacol ex-catechol production method. Rhovanil Extra Pure vanillin can be used in baked foods, chocolate and confectionery. It is kosher-certified and meets halal requirements. The company also announces availability of natural vanillin obtained through the fermentation of natural ferulic acid.
