US Patent No. 7,704,537 (April 27, 2010), A. Lopez, et al., assigned to H.J. Heinz Co., Pittsburgh, PA.

Frozen taquitos are made on a commercial scale by preparing a flour-based tortilla dough shaped into generally circular tortillas and baked. A strip of filling is applied to each baked tortilla, which is rolled around the filling. The filled tortilla is coated with batter, fried and frozen. To reconstitute, the frozen taquito can be heated in a microwave oven.
