SEACAUCUS, N.J. — Almost precisely a year after announcing he had been named president of the company, The Manischewitz Co. on Jan. 8 said Bruce Bossidy has left the company, by mutual agreement. The departure coincides with the expiration of his employment contract, Manischewitz said. Russell Reynolds Associates has been retained by the company to conduct a search for a new president and chief executive officer. Paul Bensabat will serve as interim c.e.o. during the search for someone to head the nations’ largest baker of matzo. "The Manischewitz Co. has been tremendously successful in broadening the appeal of kosher food from our core constituents to a much larger market searching for healthy eating alternatives," Mr. Bensabat said. "We are now looking for an executive with the experience to help us manage our growth so that we can continue to offer the highest quality kosher products to an expanding marketplace." Mr. Bossidy came to Manischewitz from outside the baking or kosher foods industries. Before joining the company he was c.e.o. of Dimensions, an arts and craft company. Earlier, he helped build Thule USA, a car rack company. He also worked for 15 years at Milliken and Co., a textile and apparel business.
