OMAHA — Andre J. Hawaux and John F. Gehring have been promoted at ConAgra Foods.

Mr. Hawaux, currently executive vice-president and chief financial officer, has been named president of Consumer Foods with oversight of the company’s top brands, including Banquet, Chef Boyardee and Healthy Choice.

Prior to joining ConAgra in 2006, Mr. Hawaux was senior vice-president of worldwide strategy and corporate development at PepsiAmericas, Inc. Earlier, he was vice-president and c.f.o. for Pepsi-Cola North America.

"Andre is a proven operator, and over the past several months he’s shown very strong leadership in improving our execution and analysis within Consumer Foods," said Gary Rodkin, chief executive officer. "I’m very confident in Andre’s ability to continue building momentum in Consumer Foods for the finish of this fiscal year and beyond."

Mr. Gehring, who is currently senior vice-president and controller, will succeed Mr. Hawaux as executive vice-president and c.f.o. Mr. Gehring joined ConAgra in 2002 as vice-president of internal audit and became senior vice-president in 2003. In July 2004, he was named to his current position. Prior to ConAgra, he was a partner at Ernst and Young L.L.P. from 1997 to 2001.

"John’s integrity, financial acumen and detailed knowledge about our businesses will serve ConAgra Foods well," Mr. Rodkin said. "We’re fortunate to have John ready to step seamlessly into the c.f.o. role as we leverage Andre’s general management effectiveness for sustainable, profitable growth in our Consumer Foods segment."
