WICHITA, KAS. — A fire in a grain bin at the Horizon Milling, L.L.C. facility early Tuesday was extinguished by area firefighters without further incident, according to press reports from the area.

Workers at the plant reported the fire around 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, resulting in the evacuation of about 110 employees with additional evacuations in the surrounding area as a precaution in case of an explosion, television and radio reports in the area said.

According to KAKE.com news, employees were allowed back into the Horizon facility around 1:45 p.m. Fire crews continued to monitor the situation throughout the afternoon.
