WASHINGTON — Plans for an agricultural transportation symposium to be held May 12-13 in Kansas City have been finalized by the National grain and Feed Association. The program, which will take place at the InterContinental hotel on the Country Club Plaza, is designed for shippers, receivers, carriers and others involved in the transport (by rail, barge or vessel) of grain, feed, ingredients and other major grain products. The symposium will be first held on transportation by the N.G.F.A. in nine years. Michael Haverty, chairman and chief executive officer of the Kansas City Southern Railway, Kansas City, will serve as keynote speaker and will offer his perspectives on the state of the rail industry.
