TERRE HAUTE, IND. — Clabber Girl has introduced sodium-free and aluminum-free InnovaFree baking powder. Clabber Girl incorporated Cal-Rise, a sodium-free leavening agent from Innophos, Cranbury, N.J., in developing InnovaFree in conjunction with Innophos.
The baking powder allows bakers to reduce sodium levels in finished goods by as much as 50%. Clabber Girl officially will introduce InnovaFree at its booth No. 2154 at "Best of Food Thinking 2009," the Institute of Food Technologists’ annual meeting and food exposition scheduled for June 6-9 in Anaheim, Calif.
"In developing InnovaFree baking powder with Cal-Rise, our R.&D., department was careful to retain all the advantages and consistent performance of our traditional Clabber Girl leavening systems, including great flavor and balanced control release for the best performance and exceptional finished product quality," said Nita Livvix, Clabber Girl R.&D. manager.
