DEFIANCE, OHIO — Diehl Food Ingredients, Inc., a division of SensoryEffects, has acquired the emulsified powders business of ACH Food Companies, a subsidiary of Associated British Foods, P.L.C. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Assets specifically acquired by Diehl include ACH’s emulsified powder and non-dairy creamer business segments for industrial and retail markets. Industrial products include those that impart flavor and whitening in beverages, nutritional and food applications. Retail products include packaged non-dairy creamers used as coffee and tea whiteners.

Diehl will consolidate non-dairy creamer production from ACH’s Champaign, Ill., facility to the company’s facility in Defiance. Diehl is also in the process of assessing its strategy for ACH’s retail business. ACH, under a license agreement, will continue to produce and supply retail products ensuring consistent supply and service until a decision is reached as to whether or not the business will remain a part of Diehl.
