CHICAGO — Wasa North America L.L.C., the world’s largest maker of crispbread, has added to its product line with the launch of Crisp’n Light Mild Rye and 100% Whole Grain crispbread.
Crisp’n Light Mild Rye has a light, crispy texture with a mild rye flavor. The crispbread provides 2 grams of fiber, 4 grams of whole grain and 80 calories in each three-slice serving.
New 100% Whole Grain crispbread combines whole grain rye flour, water, yeast and salt. Each slice of the crispbread has 12 grams of whole grains and 2 grams of fiber.
The Wasa line of crispbread now contains 10 varieties and has a suggested retail price of $2.99.
Founded in 1919, Wasa has been owned by the Barilla Group since 1999. The company’s products are baked in facilities in Fillipstad, Sweden; Hamar, Norway; and Celle, Germany, and are sold in 40 countries.
