DECATUR, ILL. — Archer Daniels Midland Co. on Jan. 21 said it is donating 700 tonnes of rice to the Friends of the World Food Program to help aid those affected by the Jan. 12 earthquake in Haiti. The donation equates to more than 12 million servings of rice. “This crisis in Haiti demonstrates the importance of the role ADM plays connecting the harvest to the home,” said Victoria Podesta, vice-president of corporate communications for ADM. “We were able to quickly identify this quantity of rice was available in Haiti, and we are pleased to donate it and coordinate its immediate supply.”
