SAN ANTONIO — James L. Sharp, vice-president of purchasing at C.H. Guenther & Son, Inc., San Antonio, died March 4 of heart disease. He was 63 years old.
A native of Arlington, Va., Mr. Sharp graduated from Culver Military Academy in 1964 and from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, with a degree in economics in 1968. Mr. Sharp served in the military in the Vietnam War and was awarded a Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster for his service.
After leaving the military, Mr. Sharp joined General Mills, Inc., beginning a 36-year career in the food industry. In 1997 he joined Guenther.
Mr. Sharp is survived by his wife of 35 years, Joyce Bergmann Sharp; children, Tracy Spruell of Allen, Texas; Michelle Dawson, of Allen, Texas; James M. Sharp of Rogers, Minn.; and five grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held March 9 at First Presbyterian Church at 404 N. Alamo in San Antonio
