LENEXA, KAS. — William McGowan has been named president and chief executive officer of Caravan Ingredients, effective July 1. He succeeds Ron Savelli, who recently was named president and c.e.o. of the newly created CSM Bakery Products North America.

Prior to joining Caravan, Mr. McGowan was president and c.e.o. of The Flying Food Group and chief operating officer of Feeding America. Earlier, he held a variety of executive positions, including business director for Quaker Oats’ bagged cereal business, vice-president of business development for Field Container Group and vice-president of supply chain for Barilla America.

He received a bachelor’s degree from North Park College, where he graduated magna cum laude, and a master’s degree in business administration from DePaul University.

“Bill comes to Caravan Ingredients with extensive experience and a demonstrated ability to leverage the strengths of an organization into superior growth and customer development,” said Bret Weaver, c.e.o. of Bakery Supplies North America, part of CSM. “He should be a great complement to the Caravan Ingredients organization which has demonstrated much recent success and made substantial investments in innovation for future growth.”
