CANTON, MASS. — Dunkin’ Brands, Inc., the parent company of Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins, has named Harlan Bakeries of Avon, Ind., as its 2010 Supplier of the Year.

According to Dunkin’ Brands, the award is presented to a vendor that “adds significant value through cost savings, innovative process engineering, product quality, service enhancements or incremental sales.”

Harlan Bakeries, an international wholesale supplier and distributor of products for in-store bakeries and private label baked goods, became a supplier for the Dunkin’ Donuts Bagel Twist category in 2010. The bakery company worked with the culinary and commercialization teams at Dunkin’ Donuts on the bagel twists, which drove an increase in the brand’s overall bagel category sales.

“Harlan Bakeries has been a great partner and asset to the Dunkin’ Donuts brand,” said Nigel Travis, chief executive officer of Dunkin’ Brands and president of Dunkin’ Donuts. “They consistently delivered excellence against condensed timelines and escalated volumes, contributing greatly to our bagel success last year. We’re pleased to honor them for representing the very best of the Dunkin’ Brands system.”
