WASHINGTON — George E. Dunaif, Ph.D., has been named vice-president of food safety and technical services at the Grocery Manufacturers Association, effective Aug. 15. Dr. Dunaif most recently was vice-president of global food safety at Campbell Soup Co., where he was responsible for the company’s worldwide food safety function, including toxicology, microbiology, process safety and analytical chemistry. He also was vice-chairman of the Campbell Corporate Crisis Management Team.

Bailey, president and chief executive officer of the G.M.A. “G.M.A. has a world-class food safety practice, and I am certain that George Dunaif has the experience and leadership skills necessary to take G.M.A.’s food safety and technical services to an even higher level of effectiveness.”
While at Campbell Soup, Dr. Dunaif represented the company as a member of many international, national and state scientific, technical and trade organizations, including the Food Allergy Resource and Research Program, the Institute of Food Technologists, the Society of Toxicology, the New Jersey State Commission on Cancer Research, the New Jersey Poison Control Center and the F.A.O./WHO Codex Committee on Food Additives and Contaminants.
He received a bachelor’s of science degree in nutrition and foods from SUNY College at Buffalo, a master’s of science degree in human nutrition from Iowa State University and his Ph.D. in toxicology, with minors in pharmacology and pathology, from Cornell University.
