WASHINGTON — The American Bakers Association announced that Robert Hill, president and chief executive officer of Acosta Sales and Marketing, will take part in the 2012 Annual Convention. Mr. Hill will share his expertise regarding product placement, shelf allocation and in-store product promotion strategies during the April 16 business session in Scottsdale, Ariz.

“When it comes to in-store strategy, there is no one better,” said Robb MacKie, president and c.e.o. of the A.B.A. “While bakers have no shortage of issues keeping them up at night, Mr. Hill’s remarks will be a reminder that consumer touch is critically important in keeping our businesses strong and profitable.”

According to the A.B.A., Acosta is the leading outsourced sales and marketing agency serving consumer packaged goods companies across North America. Acosta works with clients to develop integrated approaches that engage shoppers at all points in the path to purchase, ensuring that clients’ products strategically are positioned to most effectively convert shoppers at the shelf.

Mr. Hill has worked with more than 1,000 packaged goods companies to successfully meet their sales and marketing objectives. He has held his current position at Acosta since 2009, and he is on numerous industry-related boards.

“A.B.A. is excited to welcome this very dynamic strategist to our group,” Mr. MacKie said. “His presentation will add tremendous value to attendees on strategic vision and anticipation of consumers’ needs. In this competitive environment, nothing is more important than innovation.”
