CHICAGO — The Gonnella Baking Co. said three of its baking and production facilities now are certified as being capable of producing kosher products.

The Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America (OU) certified three Gonnella facilities, including its baking facility in Aurora, Ill., and Gonnella’s frozen products division facilities in Schaumburg, Ill., and Hazle Township, Pa.

“Gonnella is pleased to provide kosher products to our customers,” said Daniel Herzog, vice-president of corporate compliance — food safety of Gonnella. “Many customers look for O.U.’s logo before making a purchase because they are so widely respected for quality kosher products.”

Based in New York, the O.U. provides both domestic and international kosher and pareve certification services. It is known and recognized as the world’s largest and most organized kosher organization, certifying hundreds of thousands of products in more than 90 countries throughout the world.
