NEW YORK – A hearing on a motion from Hostess Brands, Inc. to reject 296 collective bargaining agreements with its union employees has been rescheduled to March 23 and 26, according to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of New York. The hearing originally was scheduled for March 5.

Hostess Brands, Irving, Texas, is under Chapter 11 bankruptcy projection. In its motion the company said it cannot emerge from bankruptcy as a viable competitor unless it is relieved of a number of financial commitments under the collective bargaining agreements. Union leaders have said the bankruptcy was due to mismanagement.
