CHICAGO — Michael Regan has been named West coast sales manager for the industrial food manufacturing division of Barry Callebaut. Mr. Regan will be responsible for strengthening the company’s Western sales initiatives for food manufacturing accounts. He succeeds Robert Glaessner, who was named gourmet sales director, Western region, for Barry Callebaut’s Gourmet Business Unit.

“We are very pleased that Michael has decided to join the Barry Callebaut team,” said Mark Freeman, vice-president of food manufacturing regional accounts, Barry Callebaut, North American region. “He will be a true asset given his extensive experience within the chocolate industry and diverse functional background.”

Mr. Regan has more than 20 years of experience in the chocolate industry, most recently as sales director for North America at Debelis. In addition to his sales director role, he managed the Belcolade product line and initiated many of the organic and nutritional products that were brought to market during his six-year tenure at Debelis.

Prior to Debelis he was technical director of sweetener products for Danisco/Cultor North America, and earlier he was director of R.&D. and quality assurance with Ghirardelli Chocolate. He started his career at Nestle, Inc., where for nine years he drove new programs and initiatives within the production and quality teams.
