SAVANNAH, GA. — Paula Deen, chef, author and restaurateur, has partnered with Buffalo, N.Y.-based Nanco Group to create Paula Deen Foods. The new company will expand on existing Paula Deen’s products that are sold in retailers throughout the United States, and it will cover Paula Deen’s traditional recipes as well as lighter versions.

Paula Deen Foods plans to launch its initial products by September.

“We are honored to take the Nanco generations of experience and bring our favorite recipes from our family to your own,” said Ms. Deen. “Working with Nanco, we have generations of experience and knowledge from our most important partners — the grocery retailers that will enable us to bring the best value possible to those who love our recipes.”

Ms. Deen recently received an Emmy Award nomination for her work as host of “Paula’s Best Dishes,” and she is known for her Southern Cooking passion, having sold more than 8 million cookbooks. Ms. Deen’s landmark restaurant The Lady & Sons, based in Savannah, has been the launch pad for an expanding restaurant business in partnership with Caesars Entertainment. The companies recently launched a fourth restaurant, Paula Deen’s Kitchen, at Harrah’s Joliet, Ill., property. In addition to her food products, Ms. Deen has a line of Paula Deen Cookware as well as Paula Deen Home, which features furniture and other products.
