HEERLEN, THE NETHERLANDS – Royal DSM has completed its acquisition of Ocean Nutrition Canada, a Dartmouth, N.S.-based global provider of fish-oil-derived nutritional products to the dietary supplement and food and beverage markets, DSDM said July 19. The acquisition, first announced on May 18, was for a total enterprise value of C$540 million. DSM expects it to be earnings-per-share accretive from 2013 onwards.
Ocean Nutrition Canada is a provider of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), two forms of omega-3 fatty acids derived from fish, through the company’s Meg-3 product line.
