FRANKFORT KY. — Governor Steve Beshear of Kentucky announced Hearthside Food Solutions L.L.C. plans to invest $1.4 million in London, Ky., to add a cookie/cracker production line and new packaging equipment and to create 80 jobs.

“It’s always exciting to see a company continue to invest in its Kentucky facility, increase jobs and help grow the economy here in the Commonwealth,” Mr. Beshear said. “We’re pleased to partner with Hearthside to help create 80 new jobs and further bolster Kentucky’s food and beverage industry as well as the local economy in London and the surrounding area.”

Founded in 2009, Hearthside is a full-service contract manufacturer of grain-based foods and snack products. The company operates 13 food manufacturing facilities in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota and Oregon.

“Hearthside’s cookie factory has been part of Laurel county for generations, confirming our commitment to both our people and our community,” said Doug Sherman, vice-president of manufacturing for Hearthside. “Continued investment, including this expansion, is good for our people, for Kentucky and for our company.”
