WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Three years after introducing organic oatmeal as part of a pilot program in its Philadelphia and Greensboro, N.C., stores, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. said it has added the product at all its company-owned stores in the United States and Canada.

Quaker Oats Co. supplies the oatmeal, which is made with 100% whole grain rolled oats and is available with several toppings such as apple cinnamon medley, brown sugar and dried fruit blend.

“We are not making any ‘healthy’ claims or promises for this product,” Krispy Kreme said. “At Krispy Kreme we are focused on providing menu options that fit our consumer’s needs and make sense as complements to our menu of unique signature products. Offering complementary items like oatmeal allows us to meet the menu expectations of consumers looking for product variety.”

Organic oatmeal was introduced in 2009 in Philadelphia and Greensboro, and it became available in all company-owned shops on March 9.
