DECATUR, ILL. — Steven J. Cassady has joined Archer Daniels Midland Co. as vice-president of procurement. He will be responsible for all ADM non-commodity purchasing functions and key supplier relationships.

“This role reflects our company’s strong commitment to leveraging economies of scale and our expertise in strategic planning and analysis to create incremental value for our stockholders and customers,” said John Rice, executive vice-president of commercial and production. “Steven has a strong track record of effectively managing global procurement functions for large multinational corporations. The knowledge and expertise he brings to ADM will be instrumental as we advance our procurement function.”

Prior to joining ADM Mr. Cassady was director of global procurement for Kohler Co. He also has held supply chain management positions for Lucent Technologies, and began his career as a senior project engineer with AT&T Corp.

He received a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Illinois, a master’s degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University, and a master’s degree in financial and international business from Columbia University.
