CHESTERFIELD, MO. – Citing input cost increases, including corn and molasses substrates, electricity, transportation and other key raw materials, AB Mauri Fleischmann’s announced it will be raising its prices in the United States and Canada on all yeast products as well as other bakery ingredients effective Feb. 14, or as contracts expire.

Cream yeast prices will increase 2c per lb, as is, compressed yeast will increase 4c per lb, and dry yeast will increase 6c per lb. Actual price changes on bakery ingredients will vary depending on product and delivery location, the company said.

“The considerable cost increases we have absorbed to date, plus near-term forecasted increases means that price increases are unavoidable,” said Greg Strauss, vice-president of sales and marketing.

AB Mauri Fleischmann’s is a division of AB Mauri, a global leader in yeast and bakery ingredients.
