WASHINGTON — The total amount of edible liquid product from shell eggs broken in January was 221,386,000 lbs, up 1% from both December 2011 and January 2011, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in its latest Egg Products report.

January production of edible liquid whole eggs was 133,284,000 lbs, down 5% from December and down 3% from January 2011; liquid whites were 58,001,000 lbs, up 12% from December and up 6% from January 2011; liquid yolks were 30,101,000 lbs, up 14% from December and up 9% from January 2011.

Shell eggs broken in January were 169,992,000 dozen, up 1% from December but down slightly from 170,042,000 dozen in January 2011.
