WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and The Hershey Co. have teamed up again to offer a limited-time donut at the Winston-Salem-based chain’s outlets.

The new product, Hershey’s Gold Doughnut, pairs Krispy Kreme’s original glazed donut with pieces of the new Hershey’s Gold bar and a salted caramel icing. The Hershey’s Gold bar was recently introduced by Hershey, Pa.-based Hershey Co. as the fourth bar flavor in the brand’s 117-year history. The Hershey’s Gold bar features a caramelized crème base, including peanuts and pretzel bits.

“One of the ways we bring joy to our customers is by innovating to create unique donuts that only Krispy Kreme Doughnuts can deliver,” said Jackie Woodward, chief marketing officer at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. “We’ve created the perfect balance between smooth and crunchy by including actual pieces of the salty sweet Hershey’s Gold bar on our original glazed donut.”

This is not the first time the two companies have teamed up on a donut. Last year, Krispy Kreme and Hershey partnered to introduce the Krispy Kreme Reese’s Peanut Butter Doughnut.
