SNAXPO18 welcomed 300 new attendees to the show.

ATLANTA— SNAXPO18, held March 12-14, brought together more than 1,350 leading snack manufacturers, marketers and suppliers from 38 countries. The biennial full equipment show was a tremendous success, said Elizabeth Avery, president and chief executive officer of Snac International. 

“The exhibit floor was truly one stop shopping, featuring every possible product or service sought by the evolving snack category,” Ms. Avery said. “With new investments in education, SNAXPO18 attendees also left with deep technical, marketing and leadership insights.”


More than 300 industry professionals and more than 30 exhibitors participated in SNAXPO for the first time, breaking recent attendance records, Ms. Avery said. The show featured 160 exhibitors showcasing the latest innovations in ingredients, processing equipment, packaging supplies, quality control technologies and much more.  

Other show highlights included the two keynote speakers: Jonah Berger, Ph.D., professor at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, who discussed the power of social influence on marketing; and former SEAL Team Six Leader Rob O'Neill, who shared lessons learned on perseverance, teamwork, and quick decision-making from his many combat missions.

SNAC International and Baking & Snack also debuted the first annualSNAXPO Innovations Hub, featuring 10 of the most recent innovations in snack processing equipment and ingredients.

Sally Lyons Wyatt, executive vice-president at Information Resources, Inc. (IRI), providedinsightsinto new and emerging snacks and Jared Koerten, senior analyst at Euromonitor International, discussed theglobal snack industry.

SNAC International General Counsel, Martin Hahn, with Hogan Lovells, gave an update on regulatory impacts from Washington. And finally, a Latin American education program, including the latest snacking trends from Central America and South America, provided even more international value for attendees. 

The next SNAXPO is scheduled for March 31-April 2, 2019, in Orlando, Fla.
