EVERETT, WASH. — Funko, Inc., a pop culture consumer products company, is getting into the breakfast business with the launch of a new line of ready-to-eat cereals.

FunkO’s cereal is expected to hit store shelves this summer and feature more than 40 characters associated with pop culture, including Batman, Batgirl, Huckleberry Hound, Beetlejuice, Freddy Krueger and Pennywise.

Each box of cereal will include a corresponding miniature Pocket Pop! figure, and the back panel will include additional themed activities, puzzles and games. The cereal has a suggested retail price of $7.99 for a 7-oz box and, depending on the variety, will be available at select retailers, including GameStop, Hot Topic, f.y.e., Box Lunch, Entertainment Earth, BAM!, and Funko.com.

“As the market leader in licensed pop culture products and speed-to-market capabilities, we are in a truly unique position to surprise and delight our passionate fan base,” said Brian Mariotti, chief executive officer of Funko. “We are thrilled to bring our stylized designs and inventive products to the cereal aisle this year and bring the fun back to breakfast. Given our diversity of licenses, this launch is another example of how we are able to drive fan engagement and consumer demand for our brand in creative and distinctively Funko ways.”

In addition to cereal, Funko designs, sources and distributes licensed pop culture products across multiple categories, including vinyl figures, action toys, plush, apparel, housewares and accessories.
