PICO RIVERA, CALIF. — Gary Schmidt has been named president and chief executive officer of BakeMark, a manufacturer and distributor of bakery ingredients, products and supplies. He succeeds Jim Parker, who is taking on the role of executive chairman of BakeMark and chairman of BakeMark’s board of directors.

Before joining BakeMark, Mr. Schmidt was chief operating officer of KanPak, a division of Golden State Foods. He earlier was vice-president of sales and vice-president of global operations at Corbion. Prior to Corbion he held executive roles at Cargill, E.&J. Gallo and Givaudan.

He received a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Montana State University and a master’s degree in business administration from Webster University.
