AUBURN, WASH. — The Gluten Intolerance Group has accredited SCS Global Services, a third-party certification body, to provide Gluten-Free Certification Organization services to food and beverage companies.

The G.F.C.O. verifies gluten-free products and is a program of the Auburn-based Gluten Intolerance Group, a non-profit association. SCS Global Services, Emeryville, Calif., already provides food quality, food safety, organic, non-bioengineered/non-G.M.O. and sustainability certifications.

“With SCS Global Services serving as a certifying body, we are looking forward to companies having greater reach and more flexibility in obtaining gluten-free certification,” said Cynthia Kupper, chief executive officer of the Gluten Intolerance Group. “We are excited that working with SCS Global Services expands our reach in the international market, allowing more consumer goods manufacturers to provide contracts that are gluten-free certified.”
