CAMDEN, N.J. — Campbell Soup Co. has eliminated the role of chief operating officer. Luca Mignini, formerly senior vice-president and c.o.o., has transitioned to the role of executive vice-president strategic initiatives.

According to Campbell Soup, Mr. Mignini will remain in his new role until Aug. 1, at which point his role will be eliminated.

Mr. Mignini had been promoted to c.o.o. in April 2018 to go along with his title of president of Global Business and Snacks. With the promotion to c.o.o. he was tasked with the additional responsibilities of managing Campbell’s soup, simple meals and shelf-stable beverage businesses, the company’s sales organization and global product development.

The announcement was made as part of an April 2 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. In the filing, Campbell Soup also announced Keith R. McLoughlin had been elected chairman to succeed the retiring Les C. Vinney.
