KANSAS CITY — New granola products are pouring into the cereal aisle as food manufacturers debut new premium, allergen-free and organic options.

The Kellogg’s Co. is ushering its Bear Naked granola brand into the premium segment with its new Bear Naked Premium Granola collection. The granolas feature bites of melted fair-trade chocolate and nut butter baked in and are made using a technique that creates a soft, cookie-like texture, Kellogg said. Both varieties are U.S.D.A. certified organic, Non-GMO Project verified, certified gluten-free and include fair-trade cocoa.

The White Chocolate Macadamia Nut granola combines whole grain oats, cashew butter, white chocolate, pumpkin seeds, macadamia nuts and honey.

The Dark Chocolate Hazelnut granola features a blend of whole grain oats, hazelnut butter, roasted Turkish hazelnuts, semisweet chocolate, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and honey.

“Grocery aisles have been lined with the same flavor variations of granola for years,” said Jason Moraff, director of marketing at Bear Naked. “We know Bear Naked Granola fans are always looking for exciting new food experiences, so we thought it was time to elevate granola from a breakfast staple to a unique treat for any time of day. We amped up the flavor profile with premium ingredients and created a one-of-a-kind cookie-like texture that’s not only indulgent but is also different than any other granola you’ve ever tried.”

The Safe + Fair Food Co. is introducing its first product line that is free from all top eight allergens and is both gluten-free and vegan. New Safe + Fair granola is made with ancient grains, is non-G.M.O. and comes in four flavors: birthday cake, blueberry cinnamon, chocolate and sweet and salty kettle.

“Granola is a popular food item as it is the perfect addition to cereal bowls, yogurts or ice cream, but it is a food item that people with food allergies often have to avoid,” said Will Holsworth, chief executive officer of The Safe + Fair Food Co. “Our R.&D. team worked diligently to create a delicious line for the underserved community of those affected by food allergies. We are excited to continue to expand our product portfolio to cater to this growing demand.”

One Degree Organic Foods is introducing Pumpkin Seed & Flax Granola. Made with sprouted organic heirloom Styrian Pumpkin Seeds from Austria, the granola features organic oat, seed and flax clusters and is sweetened with a combination of organic coconut palm sugar and organic date syrup. The granola is certified gluten-free, U.S.D.A. certified organic, Non-GMO Project verified and glyphosate-free.

“We are dedicated to offering consumers clean, nourishing foods, and sourcing ingredients direct from farmers that use only plant-based cultivation methods,” said Stan Smith, co-founder of One Degree. “We are excited to launch our newest granola and continue to provide consumers with more sprouted and gluten-free options that don’t sacrifice taste.”
