KANSAS CITY — Whole grains are the star ingredient in product innovation ranging from bread and tortillas to mozzarella sticks and waffles.

The Campbell Soup Co. is thinking thin for its new line of sandwich bread. Made with 100% whole grain flour, new Pepperidge Farm Thin Sliced bread contains 70 calories and 13 to 14 grams of whole grains per slice. Varieties include 100% Whole Wheat, Honey Wheat and 15 Grain.

Harbar L.L.C.’s Maria and Ricardo’s brand is introducing the Whole Wheat Plus Tortilla. The Non-GMO Project verified tortilla is a keto-friendly option that provides four net carbs, six grams of fiber and three grams of protein. Made with avocado oil, each tortilla contains 45 calories and is both vegan and kosher certified.

Kidfresh is launching new mozzarella sticks and waffles made with whole grains. Kidfresh Mozzarella Sticks are made with mozzarella cheese, whole wheat flour and hidden chickpea flour. The snacks deliver eight grams of whole grains and nine grams of protein per serving. Kidfresh Waffles provide eight grams of protein and five grams of whole grains per serving. Made with butternut squash, the waffles are available in three varieties: homestyle, blueberry and chocolate chip.
