ROBESONIA, PA. — Reading Thermal has made upgrades to its Scorpion 2 Digital Humidity Sensor, a device that measures humidity in ovens, proofers, dryers and cooling tunnels.

The humidity present in a baking environment may affect product quality in a variety of ways. By tracking moisture content, operations can enhance the look and texture of cookies, crackers, breads and more. The new design may help improve product consistency and quality control while also increasing throughput and shelf life.

Scorpion 2 Digital Humidity Sensor uses proprietary Anti-Saturation Technology to help bakers accurately gauge moisture content in both heating and cooling processes. It measures dew point temperatures, absolute humidity and relative humidity. Additionally, the new sensor requires no preheating, adds dwell time and includes two product probe inputs.
