KENTWOOD, MICHIGAN — Roskam Baking Co. will expand its manufacturing facility in Kentwood through an $85.2 million investment.

The project will add two production lines, one of which will be used to produce frozen breakfast foods, and create an additional 238 jobs at the site.

Roskam worked with two Michigan-based economic development organizations, Michigan Business Development Program (M.B.D.P.) and The Right Place, to receive incentives for the expansion. The bakery will obtain a $1 million M.B.D.P. performance-based grant for the investment. In addition, the city of Kentwood is considering the approval of a property tax abatement.

“This project is an excellent win for our region in terms of jobs, investment and overall economic impact,” said Eric Icard, senior business development manager and project lead, The Right Place. “West Michigan’s food processing industry is a national leader, and Roskam’s decision to continue its growth here is a testament to our region’s strength.”

Based in Grand Rapids, Mich., Roskam creates co-manufactured and branded baked foods at six U.S. facilities. Its product line includes bakery and snack products as well as candies, finishings and dry mixes.
