SWEDESBORO, NJ. — Dr. Schar USA Inc., a business unit of Dr. Schar AG, Burgstall, Italy, is investing $28 million in its production and office space in Swedesboro. Dr. Schar opened the facility in 2012 to produce a variety of baked foods.
The gluten-free baked foods manufacturer said it will enhance its baking facility, which will improve its product consistency, efficiency and overall baking excellence.
As part of the investment, Dr. Schar said it has added an on-site canteen, staffed with a professional chef, to provide fresh meals and a comfortable space for its employees to recharge. The company also has developed a community employee garden and outdoor eating area to foster collaboration.
