Hot cereal is gaining steam in new product launches.
Bob’s Red Mill is expanding its muesli lineup with three new varieties: Paleo Muesli, Gluten-Free Tropical Muesli, and Fruit & Seed Muesli.
The Paleo Muesli is grain-free, gluten-free and features coconut, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, cashews, almonds, macadamia nuts, currants, cranberries and blueberries.
The Gluten-Free Tropical Muesli combines lightly toasted gluten-free rolled oats with quinoa crisps, nuts, seeds and morsels of mango and coconut.
The Fruit & Seed Muesli offers a blend of seven grains with raisins, blueberries, cranberries, cherries, almonds, pumpkin seeds, coconut flake, hemp seeds, chia seeds and flax.
“There are many unique diets out there, and everyone needs a nutritious, satisfying breakfast,” said Bob Moore, founder, president and chief executive officer of Bob’s Red Mill. “Now that we have five varieties of muesli to choose from, anyone can start the day with a bowl of delicious European-style cereal and know they are choosing something nourishing.”
Bakery on Main is introducing hot cereal minus the oats and plus an ancient grain twist. The company’s new Organic Creamy Hot Breakfast is available in Amaranth Multigrain and Quinoa Multigrain varieties and is oat-free, gluten-free, Non-GMO Project verified and OU kosher. The unsweetened hot cereal contains no sodium, cholesterol, saturated fat, trans fat, dairy, casein, wheat or gluten.

Hot cereals are the stars of Homestat Farm’s new products. The company’s new Maypo Instant Maple Flavored Oatmeal features baked maple chips and is cholesterol free, Non-GMO Project verified and certified kosher pareve. HomeStat’s new Steel Cut Oats & Chia features organic steel cut oats, flax, rye flakes and chia seeds. The USDA Organic certified and kosher cereal contains no additives, flavors, colorings, cholesterol, lactose, added sugars, salt or trans fat.

King Arthur Flour is introducing Essential Goodness, a line of baking mixes that contain no hydrogenated oils, artificial colors, preservatives or G.M.O.s. The line includes six varieties: Everyone’s Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookie, Sour Cream Coffeecake, Cloud 9 Pancakes, Lemon Bar, Cinnamon Sugar Puff Muffin and Vanilla Bean Cheesecake Bar.

The Kraft Heinz Co. is expanding its snacking options with new Bagel Bites Mini Bagel Dogs. Made with 100% all beef Oscar Mayer hot dogs, the bites contain no high-fructose corn syrup or artificial flavors.

Riviana Foods, Inc.’s Minute Rice brand is adding two new rice varieties to its lineup: Minute Ready to Serve Brown Rice & Quinoa and Minute Ready to Serve Basmati Rice.

Nonni’s Foods is celebrating the season with two new biscotti flavors: Dark Chocolate Pumpkin and Milk Chocolate Hazelnut.
Nonni’s Dark Chocolate Pumpkin Biscotti, made with pumpkin and a blend of sweet spices, is filled with dark chocolate chunks and dipped in dark chocolate.
Nonni’s Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Biscotti is packed with hazelnuts, dipped in milk chocolate and drizzled with more chocolate.

Meredith Corp. and Bellisio Foods have joined forces to launch new EatingWell frozen entrees. Each meal contains one cup of vegetables, 13 or more grams of protein, whole grains, and chicken, beef or pork raised without antibiotics. The entrees are free of artificial colors and flavors, preservatives, MSG and hydrogenated oils. EatingWell frozen entrees come in eight varieties: Cherry Port Pork, Chicken & Wild Rice Stroganoff, Creamy Pesto Chicken, Indian Inspired Chicken, Korean Inspired Beef, Moroccan Inspired Chicken, Spicy Asian Inspired Chicken and Vermont Cheddar Mac & Cheese.

Pure Foods is taking trail mix to the chip aisle. Trail Chips are baked and offer 18 grams of whole grains per serving. The Wildberry Medley variety blends organic quinoa, pumpkin, cranberries, blueberries and sunflower and chia seeds. The Tropical Medley flavor combines pineapple, coconut and banana. Both flavors are certified non-G.M.O., USDA Organic, gluten-free and kosher.

Mikey’s is unveiling its new pizza crust that is certified paleo and gluten-, grain-, dairy- and soy-free. The non-G.M.O. crusts are made from non-G.M.O. eggs, almond flour, purified water, coconut flour, toasted onion flakes, kosher salt, garlic powder, baking soda and dried oregano.
