Protein granola, habanero chips, and digestive blend cereals among latest product launches in the market.
Post Foods, L.L.C., is introducing a cereal filled with whole grains, natural fiber and active cultures. The new ingredient cereal blend includes wheat, barley, rolled oats, multi-grain flakes, and real berry juice and comes in two flavors: berry medley and vanilla graham. Each one-cup serving offers 7 grams of fiber and 41 grams of whole grains. "Research shows 9 out of 10 Americans are not getting enough fiber in their diets," said Mark Izzo, vice-president of research, development and innovations at Post Foods, L.L.C. "We developed Great Grains Digestive Blend cereals with fiber, active cultures and more than 85% of the daily recommended amount of whole grains per serving — three key ingredients to help support digestive health and help people feel more balanced from the inside out."
Tyson Foods is introducing a line of breakfast offerings called Tyson Day Starts. The selection includes biscuit sandwiches, breakfast flatbreads, and wrapped omelets that may be ready to eat in less than two minutes. Some of the flavor varieties include classic sausage, egg and cheese biscuits, wrapped cheese omelets, and bacon, egg, and cheese flatbread sandwiches. All items are packed with up to 27 grams of protein per serving.
Kellogg’s Keebler, and M&M’s, a business unit of Mars, Inc., are rolling out three new cookie selections filled with M&M’s. The new lineup includes rainbow chocolate chip mini cookies with mini M&M’s, triple chocolate chip cookies with M&M’s, and rainbow chocolate chip cookies with M&M’s. “The colorful fun and 100% real chocolate of M&M'S adds yet another magical and great-tasting touch to our Chips Deluxe cookies,” said Brad Goist, vice-president and general manager of Kellogg's Snacks.
In an effort to capitalize on the Greek yogurt trend, Sunsweet is launching Greek style PlumSweets, which are diced dried plums with a Greek yogurt coating. PlumSweets are only 180 calories per quarter cup.
Pretzelmaker, a subsidiary of Global Franchise Group, is introducing Bowl of Bites in two flavors: chili and cheese and strawberries and cream. The chili and cheese variety offers salted pretzel bites with spiced tomato-based chili and cheddar cheese while the strawberries and cream includes cinnamon sugar pretzel bites coated with strawberry sauce and whipped cream.
Bear Naked Granola is featuring a new offering with the addition of Honey Almond Protein granola. The ingredients are minimally processed and free of hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, and artificial preservatives.
Doritos, a major brand of PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay division, is announcing Doritos Dinamita habanero flavored rolled tortilla chips. The chips offer the taste of habanero peppers along with chili and red peppers.
Hain Celestial Group, Inc. is introducing pita chips to the lineup of Bearitos products. The chips come in a variety of flavors, including sea salt, multigrain, olive oil, and lemon and garlic. In addition to being non-GMO Project verified, the chips do not contain artificial flavors, preservatives, or trans fat.
Lay’s Kettle Cooked, a brand of PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay, is debuting two new flavors featuring sea salt and vinegar and jalapeno cheddar. Both flavored chip varieties contain 40% less fat than regular potato chips. The new varieties join original, applewood smoked BBQ and sundried tomato, and Parmesan kettle cooked chips in the lineup.
