ST. PAUL, MINN. — CHS Inc. has acquired Agri Point Ltd. from East Point Holdings Ltd., Nicosia, Cyprus. The acquisition is part of CHS’s ongoing global grain origination expansion, adding approximately 1.5 million to 2 million tonnes of corn, wheat and barley.

“Acquiring Agri Point enables CHS to further develop its global competency and presence into the high growth areas of Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Serbia,” said Claudio Scarrozza, general manager of CHS Europe, Geneva. “In addition, we’re adding important infrastructure to our global supply chain capabilities with a deep-water port in Constanta, Romania, a barge loading facility on the Danube river at Giurgiu, Romania, and an inland grain terminal at Oroshaza, Hungary.”

Mr. Scarrozza said CHS will have commercial offices in Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Serbia, managed by the CHS Europe office in Geneva. CHS also has international grain origination offices in Sao Paulo, Brazil; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Geneva; Barcelona, Spain; Kiev, Ukraine; Krasnodar, Russia; and Hong Kong and Shanghai, China.
