Heinz opens infant cereal plant in China

GUANGDONG PROVINCE, CHINA — The H.J. Heinz Co. has opened an 80,000-square-meter (860,000-square-foot) cereal plant in Foshan City in the Guangdong Province.  The facility will create 200 jobs.

Heinz operates six other facilities in China. The company’s infant cereal has been available in the Chinese market for 30 years. The new facility will isolate allergens from raw material storage to the production process to exceed international standards.

 “We have consistently lived our Heinz value of putting the consumer first, focusing on the development and innovation of infant nutrition ranging from infant formula and cereals to web baby foods and noodles, to teething rusks, and nutritional snacks,” said Grace Chen, managing director of Heinz China. “We are committed to providing Chinese babies with the safest and highest quality foods.”
