NORWICH, VT. — Tom Payne, marketing director for King Arthur Flour, Norwich, Vt., has been elected president of the Home Baking Association. He succeeds Brenda Alten, director of public relations for the J.M. Smucker Co., Orrville, Ohio.

“An important part of our mission here at King Arthur Flour is educating and inspiring home bakers, and the Home Baking Association has a long history of doing just that,” Mr. Payne said. “Our involvement with the Home Baking Association supports our goal to be a resource for educators, and I’m pleased to take a more active role in directing and promoting the organization and our collective mission.”

Kent Symns of Farmer Direct Foods, Inc., Atchison, Kas., was elected first vice-president of programming, and Keith Dieberg of ACH Food Companies, Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., was named second vice-president of membership.

The Home Baking Association, a national non-profit organization, comprises representatives from baking ingredient and equipment manufacturers, non-profit organizations, and commodity boards that have come together around one mission: To promote home baking by providing educators with tools and knowledge to perpetuate future generations of home bakers.
