WASHINGTON — The total amount of edible liquid product from shell eggs broken during September was 233,741,000 lbs, down 7% from August but up 3% from September 2011, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in its latest Egg Products report.
September production of edible liquid whole eggs was 143,860,000 lbs, down 4% from August but up 1% from September 2011; liquid whites were 59,275,000 lbs, down 12% from August but up 5% from September 2011; liquid yolks were 30,606,000 lbs, down 8% from August but up 5% from September 2011.
Shell eggs broken in September were 180,157,000 dozen, down 8% from August but up 2% from September 2011.
January – September production of edible whole eggs was 1,233,334,000 lbs, down slightly from 1,234,918,000 lbs during the same period of the previous year; whites were 543,168,000 lbs, up 3%; yolks were 277,161,000 lbs, up 3%; and total edible liquid was 2,053,663,000 lbs, up 1%.
