HONOLULU — Love’s Bakery Inc. has partnered with Aloha Air Cargo to distribute Love’s fresh bread on Maui, Kauai, Kona and Hilo, areas that account for approximately 40% of Love’s sales.
The companies on May 28 unveiled a freshly painted Boeing 737 plant that features the Love’s Bakery logo near the front and tail, as well as the Aloha Air Cargo name on the jet engines. The aircraft’s new name, "The Love Jet," is painted on the nose side.
Love’s Bakery produces 206 varieties of bread, 70 varieties of buns and rolls, and 14 varieties of cakes, all baked fresh in Hawaii — a tradition that began with Robert Love in 1851. From its bakery in Honolulu, the company’s products are shipped by air to Maui, Kauai, Molokai and the Big Island. The company’s products also had been distributed by the Hawaii Superferry until that service was halted by the courts.
Love’s also has nine thrift store outlets throughout the islands.
