KANSAS CITY — Michigan Sugar Co., Bay City, Mich., has filled three leadership positions and one key manager is set to retire in March, the company said Feb. 2.

Pedro L. Figueroa has been named vice-president of sales and will transition to vice-president of marketing and sales when Jerry Coleman, current vice-president of marketing, retires in March. Mr. Figeuroa most recently was divisional head, USA White Sugar for ED&F Man in Miami, Fla.

Lynnette Keller was named executive director of human resources. She has been with XALT Energy, Demmer Corp., Styron and Dow Corning Corp.

Michigan Sugar Co. board chairman Richard Gerstenberger, a farmer from Snover, Mich., earlier in February was elected president of the American Sugarbeet Growers Association, which represents about 10,000 growers in 11 states.
