NEW YORK — Baking equipment from a dozen shuttered baking plants and storage depots as well as the sale of six real estate proprieties has been initiated by Reich Brothers in partnership with Rabin Worldwide.

The two businesses, asset liquidation specialists, are selling more than 2,000 lots encompassing assets and baking plants of Hostess Brands acquired out of bankruptcy by Flowers Foods, Inc. The real estate properties are in Peoria, Ill.; Tolleson, Ariz.; Rocky Mount, N.C.; Morristown, Tenn.; and Bluefield, W.V.

The auctions begin March 1 on-line, with auctions closing the week of April 3. The sellers will auction the equipment on-line. Two live auctions will be conducted, one in Ogden and the second in Rocky Mount.

Reich Brothers and Rabin partnered to purchase the equipment and multiple Hostess plants that have been idle since the 2012 Hostess bankruptcy.

“The real estate properties available for purchase are in established or burgeoning industrial markets, making them prime locations for manufacturers,” said Adam Reich, co-chief executive officer of Reich Bros. “We look forward to helping usher in new industrial tenants that will create jobs and stimulate the economies of each of these geographical areas.”

Richard Reese, c.e.o. of Rabin, said the cachet of the Hostess heritage has elevated interest in the properties.

“The legacy of the Hostess Brands is positively affecting the sale of these goods,” he said. “We have interest from buyers across the United States, and as far away as Brazil. We’ve included unique baking equipment, such as a Twinkie packaging line. Our live auctions in Ogden and Rocky Mount are a prime opportunity for bidders to see exclusive snack cake lines.”

Auction lots will include:

  • Dough mixers, flour handling equipment;
  • Bread and bun make-up and packaging lines;
  • Snack cake, donut production machinery;
  • Ovens, proofers, coolers, panning systems;
  • Pan, lid, and product conveyor;
  • Stainless tanks, kettles, pumps, pipework; and
  • Boilers, air compressors, chillers, ice makers.
