WASHINGTON — The total amount of liquid product from shell eggs broken in June was 233,515,000 lbs, up 6% from May and from the previous year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in its latest Egg Products report.

May production of edible whole eggs was 145,020,000 lbs, up 6% from the previous year; liquid whites were 58,659,000 lbs, up 8%; liquid yolks were 29,836,000 lbs, up 7%; and inedible products were 19,278,000 lbs, up 4%.

Edible liquid product produced for the January-June period was 1,288,509,000 lbs, down 2% from the same period of the previous year, the U.S.D.A. said. Liquid whole eggs totaled 815,989,000 lbs, down 3%; liquid whites were 312,184,000 lbs, equal to previous year levels; liquid yolks were 160,336,000 lbs, down 4%; and inedible products were 109,070,000 lbs, down 6%.

Shell eggs broken in June totaled 178,839,000 dozen, up 6% from the previous year and previous month. Shell eggs broken in the January-June period totaled 984,569,000 dozen, down 2% from the same period of the previous year.
