LOS ANGELES — Aryzta, through its Otis Spunkmeyer brand, will be adding a new muffin to its Delicious Essentials line of food service products. The 2-oz chocolate chip muffin is made with whole grains and meets school nutrition standards for both breakfast entrees and Smart Snacks, Aryzta said.

The muffins are individually wrapped to stay fresh for 21 days at room temperature once thawed, Aryzta said. In addition to chocolate chip, other varieties in the Delicious Essentials line include blueberry, banana, chocolate chocolate chip, apple cinnamon and corn.

“Otis Spunkmeyer developed the Delicious Essentials portfolio to meet school requirements,” Aryzta said. “These foods give students the best of both worlds — great tasting options that also meet the U.S.D.A. Breakfast and Smart Snacks guidelines.”
