A new oil, Omega-9 Sunflower Oil from Dow AgroSciences, carries no saturated or trans fats and is high in heart-healthy monounsaturated fats. Because the oil has a very high level of stability, many formulations will not require antioxidants, TBHQ or partial hydrogenation to achieve the desired shelf life, thus allowing a cleaner ingredient label. The oil also supports “all natural” label claims and is produced from Nexera sunflower seed, a product of traditional plant breeding.
