QUINCY, MASS. — Bay State Milling Co. has launched its first gluten-free offering: BakingEssentials Gluten-Free all purpose flour. The new flour is third-party certified by the standards of the Celiac Sprue Association, a global, member-based non-profit organization dedicated to help individuals with celiac disease.
Ingredients in the gluten-free flour include rice flour, brown rice flour, modified potato starch, modified tapioca starch, modified corn starch and xanthan gum. The flour may be used in baking bread, rolls, cookies, brownies, pancakes, and pizza crust, Bay State said.
“Bay State Milling is committed to providing our customers with grain-based ingredients that meet the changing needs of the consumer,” said Pete Levangie, president and chief operating officer of Bay State Milling. “This product is one of a growing list of solutions that will be offered to the marketplace as part of our Healthy Grain Initiative.”
The flour is available in 50-lb bags and bulk totes.
